Happy Birthday Ginger!

Happy Birthday, Ginger!  January 29, 1973
Ain't she sweet?

Ain't she sweet?

You were small enough to fit in Mom and Dad’s hands when you made your debut on January 29, 1973.  Your birth may have been premature according to medical standards, but you were right on time with God’s plan.  Though you were small in size, I’m certain that you had some mighty lungs.  And He was faithful to keep you.
I wonder how old you were when we realized you were endowed with the gift of gab?
Probably not when you were in Pre-school taking pictures and the photographer asked you if you were married.  You had your lip poked out in that picture.  I wish I had a copy of that one to post.  And the one of you sitting on top of the kitchen table.
You were small, but somewhere along the line that belly poked out.  Maybe that’s why we started calling you Pooky.
Now you’re 5’2″ with eyes of blue.
Small in stature, mighty in Christ.
Throughout the years I’ve seen you grow amazingly.  I’ve watched you overcome so many obstacles emotionally as well as physically.  You’ve fought many battles.  Your love for the Word of God is evident as you determine to overcome.
I’m certain those places that you left behind will be the platform for your ministry.  They are now.  Every tear cried, every pain, every sorrow, every fear.  As they’ve turned into your victories, they are becoming your message.
I love that you listen.  You really listen.  That’s a rare and priceless gift.  You have been encourager and exhorter to me.  You are one of few people I allow to speak into my life.
Blogging would not be as fun or fulfilling without you.  I truly believe God has opened doors through blogging.  And I’m looking forward to what’s ahead.
Keep on keeping on!
Happy 36th Birthday!
May this be your best year yet!
I LOVE YOU, my sister, my friend!
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD has anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.
Isaiah 61:1-3

Happy Birthday Tina!

January 28, 1971

Look at Tina fabulous from 199something!

I couldn’t put a picture of Tina fabulous without adding one of Kenneth, her other half.

As I was typing birthday posts for my sister, Ginger, and my best friend since 9th grade, Tracie, I realized that a dear friend of mine has a birthday today.

So, I picked up the phone and gave her a call….

Tina and Kenneth have been close friends to my family for a very long time.  Tina’s father was once my Pastor.  A very special man he is.  And Tina and Kenneth are as well.  Kenneth has been “part of my family” for many years.  Since I was in high school.  He’s pretty much an adopted brother.

On our way home from Cammie’s basic training graduation in Fort Jackson, we were blessed to stay with them in Georgia.  I had grand intentions after our trip to post follow-ups on some of our highlights including our stay with Tina and Kenneth.  That didn’t happen.

So, I’ll take this opportunity to do so now.

Visiting with our friends was such a blessing to all of us.  Mom and Dad had some time to catch up with Kenneth while Courtney and I spent time with Tina and her daughters, Kayla and Alyssa.  We girls all took a ride and left Sophie behind with Mom, Dad and Kenneth.  Mom called my cell cracking up.  Sophie was having trouble refraining from devouring Tina’s dish of holiday Hershey Kisses.  I told her, “NO MORE,” before I left and Mom was quick to remind her.  Sophie told her, “I LOVE chocolate.  And chocolate loves me and chocolate loves my mouth.” Good times.  Good times.

I only wish we could’ve stayed to attend church with them and our former Pastor.

Tina blessed us with not one, but three Dolce and Gabanna purses for Courtney, Cammie and me.  What an unexpected Christmas blessing!  Tina, I wonder if you realize how much that meant to me when you first blessed Courtney and let her pick out a purse.  And then had her pick one for Cammie and then ME.  You know how girls are!

We love you, Tina!  We’re looking forward to seeing you all when you come for vacation the end of  February.  CAN’T WAIT!

P.S.  I’ll tell Mom to get the baked chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy ready. 😉

Happy Birthday, Tina!

As I talked with you tonight, this is what came to mind:

…for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.  2 Timothy 1:12

Standing with you my friend!

Happy Birthday Jordon!

Today is my nephew’s birthday.  Twelve today, right Jordon?  He is also Ginger’s son.

I hope this day is special for you and this will be your very best year yet.

I’m so proud to be your Nanny!

What I love about you:

Your smile!

Your dry sense of humor.

Your ability to hold intelligent, adult-like conversations with me.

Your instant messages to me. 🙂

Your affection and love for your cousins.

Your love for Christ and His Word.

And oh my goodness, your knowledge of  His Word!

Helpfulness in your home and with your family.

Much love!  You rock!

Happy Birthday Meeka & Sandy (40th)!

Happy Birthday Shout Out to my mother-in-law, “Meeka”, and to my good friend, Sandy, who is 40 today.

In case you’re wondering….Meeka’s name is Jeanne.  Sophie Jeanne is named after her (as well as my sister, Katie, whose middle name is Jean) and um, well, “sure”, we’ll just say Meeka is 40 as well.

Yea, that’s it!  Happy “40th” Sandy “AND” Meeka! 😉

We love you!
